Leather Sir 2002
Don has been involved in the Leather Community for 17 years. He came out into leather in Columbus, OH where he was a member of several clubs and still holds Associate Memberships with Trident International Columbus and the Iron Eagles of Akron, OH and worked in various capacities with the Ohio and Great Lakes Mr. Drummer contests in the mid and late 1990s. He was the first Ohio and Great Lakes Leather Sir and has maintained his involvement with several premiere community events, including being the contest coordinator for Great Lakes Leather Alliance (“GLLA”).
He has been involved with the facilitation of the International LeatherSir/ Leatherboy/Community Boot Black (ILSB/ICBB) weekend since 2007 and has also been on the IML Contestant Handling staff since 2008. He has judged, produced, emceed and presented at many events throughout the country and has been involved with many fundraising efforts before, during and after his title year. In addition to his involvement with the wonderful events listed above, some of his other most recent and proud favorite moments within the community has been winning the 2010 Great Lakes Regional Pantheon Award, serving as the Head Judge of the 2008 Mr. San Diego Leather Contest and teaching as a part of the “Intro to Kink” faculty, hosted by the Leather Archives & Museum, which was a program consisting of several workshop series geared at promoting safe BD/SM play to the younger and less experienced members of our community.
